Mais elles doivent \u00e9galement fonctionner de mani\u00e8re fiable \u00e0 100 %. Mais le climat de la for\u00eat tropicale a vite fait d'ab\u00eemer la peinture neuve, explique Michael G\u00e4rtner, presque d\u00e9sol\u00e9, en nous accueillant dans la maison de Kourou d'o\u00f9 lui et son \u00e9quipe g\u00e8rent les activit\u00e9s de MTA \u00e0 Kourou. Une maison situ\u00e9e \u00e0 la p\u00e9riph\u00e9rie d'un petit village qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 construit dans les premi\u00e8res ann\u00e9es du port spatial pour les employ\u00e9s et leurs familles. Depuis plus de 30 ans, MTA Aerospace participe activement \u00e0 la r\u00e9alisation de toutes les installations de lancement. <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3344  alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/mt-aerospace-guyane.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/mg_small-e1765486516803.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"187\" height=\"248\" \/><\/p><p>Depuis pr\u00e8s de onze mois, Michael G\u00e4rtner est le directeur de MT Aerospace Guyane, une entreprise qui veille \u00e0 ce que tout se passe bien au sol. Une activit\u00e9 \u00e0 laquelle l'Allemagne accorde depuis peu plus d'attention et d'importance. Lors d'une conf\u00e9rence minist\u00e9rielle qui se tiendra en novembre de cette ann\u00e9e et qui sera \u00e9galement consacr\u00e9e \u00e0 l'\u00e9tablissement des budgets, le th\u00e8me d'un \u201cport spatial europ\u00e9en en Guyane\u201d jouera un r\u00f4le important pour l'Allemagne, \u201cce qui n'avait jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 le cas auparavant\u201d, indique M. G\u00e4rtner. Selon lui, il s'agit moins de fus\u00e9es ou de satellites que d'activit\u00e9s \u201cau sol\u201d, c'est-\u00e0-dire d'installations sur le site du CSG (Centre Spatial Guyanais, le centre spatial europ\u00e9en situ\u00e9 en Guyane fran\u00e7aise).<\/p><p>Ceci est \u00e9galement li\u00e9 au fait que, outre l'ESA, l'Allemagne a int\u00e9r\u00eat \u00e0 avoir plus d'influence sur la possibilit\u00e9 que des lanceurs allemands (c'est ainsi que l'on appelle les fus\u00e9es ici) puissent \u00e9galement effectuer des lancements \u00e0 partir de Kourou \u00e0 l'avenir. \u201cCe n'est pas le cas pour l'instant, mais les choses \u00e9voluent tr\u00e8s rapidement et tr\u00e8s fortement en ce moment. Lors de l'attribution des budgets europ\u00e9ens, il est \u00e9galement tenu compte de ce que l'on appelle le g\u00e9o-retour, c'est-\u00e0-dire que les contrats reviennent \u00e9galement aux pays qui ont contribu\u00e9 au budget commun. Et le retour allemand pourrait \u00e9galement profiter \u00e0 son entreprise.<\/p><p>Michael G\u00e4rtner a pris le temps de s'entretenir avec nous. Le fait qu'il passe presque tout l'apr\u00e8s-midi, relativement d\u00e9tendu, dans son bureau spacieux, est plut\u00f4t exceptionnel. Normalement, il est en route vers les installations o\u00f9 travaillent ses collaborateurs. Ces derniers \u00e9tant r\u00e9partis sur l'ensemble du site, il peut facilement parcourir environ 80 kilom\u00e8tres par jour entre le centre de lancement, les grands halls, les b\u00e2timents sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s et les bureaux.<\/p><p>Michael G\u00e4rtner, chef de MT Aerospace Guyane<br \/>Michael G\u00e4rtner, responsable de MT Aerospace Guyane - Photo : MT Aerospace Guyane \/ Michael G\u00e4rtner<br \/>MT Aerospace Guyane est essentiellement un grand prestataire de services pour les installations du port spatial. \u201cLes t\u00e2ches comprennent l'entretien de grands halls, y compris des salles blanches o\u00f9 les satellites sont pr\u00e9par\u00e9s pour le lancement, la climatisation dans les halls et les bureaux, qui sont constamment n\u00e9cessaires dans le climat tropical, ainsi que l'entretien des installations de lancement ou des transporteurs sp\u00e9ciaux avec des r\u00e9servoirs pour l'hydrog\u00e8ne ou l'oxyg\u00e8ne liquide avec 20 roues ou plus de chaque c\u00f4t\u00e9. Cette liste ressemble d\u00e9j\u00e0 fortement aux op\u00e9rations d'un a\u00e9roport, ce qui est essentiellement le cas de Kourou, mais seulement avec des lancements - sans atterrissages.<\/p><p>Tout commence dans un m\u00e9langeur g\u00e9ant, aussi grand qu'une petite maison individuelle, dont il existe deux exemplaires identiques en Guyane et probablement un seul autre au monde (aux \u00c9tats-Unis, \u00e0 la NASA). De tels m\u00e9langeurs doivent \u00eatre entretenus, tout comme les \u00e9normes grues de 200 tonnes et les ascenseurs hydrauliques.
