Ma devono anche funzionare in modo affidabile al 100%. Ma il clima della foresta pluviale tropicale fa presto a rovinare la vernice nuova, spiega Michael G\u00e4rtner quasi scusandosi mentre ci accoglie nella casa di Kourou da cui lui e il suo staff gestiscono il lavoro dell'MTA a Kourou. Una casa ai margini di un piccolo insediamento costruito nei primi anni dello spazioporto per i dipendenti e le loro famiglie. MT Aerospace \u00e8 stata coinvolta in modo significativo nella realizzazione di tutte le strutture di lancio per oltre 30 anni. <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3344  alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/mt-aerospace-guyane.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/mg_small-e1765486516803.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"187\" height=\"248\" \/><\/p><p>Da quasi undici mesi, Michael G\u00e4rtner \u00e8 il direttore di MT Aerospace Guyane, una societ\u00e0 che si occupa di garantire il buon funzionamento a terra. Un impegno a cui la Germania ha recentemente prestato maggiore attenzione e attribuito maggiore importanza. In occasione di una conferenza ministeriale che si terr\u00e0 a novembre di quest'anno e che comporter\u00e0 anche la definizione di un budget, il tema di uno \u201cspazioporto europeo in Guyana\u201d avr\u00e0 un ruolo importante per la Germania, \u201cche non aveva mai ricoperto questo ruolo prima d'ora\u201d, riferisce G\u00e4rtner. Egli si riferisce a ci\u00f2 non tanto in termini di coinvolgimento con razzi o satelliti, quanto piuttosto di attivit\u00e0 \u201ca terra\u201d, ovvero le strutture sul terreno del sito CSG (CSG \u00e8 l'acronimo di Centre Spatial Guyanais, il centro spaziale europeo nella Guyana francese).<\/p><p>Questo \u00e8 anche legato al fatto che, oltre all'ESA, la Germania ha interesse ad avere maggiore influenza sulla possibilit\u00e0 che anche i lanciatori tedeschi (cos\u00ec vengono chiamati i razzi qui) possano essere lanciati da Kourou in futuro. \u201cAl momento non \u00e8 cos\u00ec, ma la questione si sta sviluppando in modo molto rapido e deciso\u201d. Quando si stanziano i bilanci europei, si tiene conto anche del cosiddetto geo-ritorno, che significa che i contratti tornano anche ai Paesi che hanno contribuito al bilancio comune. E il ritorno tedesco potrebbe quindi avvantaggiare anche la sua azienda.<\/p><p>Michael G\u00e4rtner si \u00e8 preso il tempo necessario per la nostra conversazione. Il fatto che trascorra quasi tutto il pomeriggio in modo relativamente rilassato nel suo ampio ufficio \u00e8 piuttosto un'eccezione. Di solito, infatti, si reca presso gli impianti dove lavorano i suoi collaboratori. Questi ultimi sono dislocati in tutto l'enorme sito, per cui pu\u00f2 percorrere facilmente circa 80 chilometri al giorno tra la struttura di lancio, i grandi capannoni, gli edifici specializzati e gli uffici.<\/p><p>Michael G\u00e4rtner, responsabile di MT Aerospace Guyane<br \/>Michael G\u00e4rtner, responsabile di MT Aerospace Guyane - Foto: MT Aerospace Guyane \/ Michael G\u00e4rtner<br \/>MT Aerospace Guyane \u00e8 fondamentalmente un grande fornitore di servizi per le strutture dello spazioporto. \u201cSi pu\u00f2 immaginare come un enorme campo con grandi strutture industriali, che vengono mantenute in funzione da aziende come la nostra e che, alla fine, servono per il lancio di un razzo: questo \u00e8 in definitiva il prodotto finale per il quale stiamo tutti lavorando\u201d. I compiti comprendono la manutenzione di grandi capannoni, comprese le sale per le camere bianche dove i satelliti vengono preparati per il lancio, l'aria condizionata nei capannoni e negli uffici, che sono costantemente necessari nel clima tropicale, nonch\u00e9 la manutenzione delle strutture di lancio o dei trasportatori speciali con serbatoi per l'idrogeno liquido o l'ossigeno con 20 o pi\u00f9 ruote su ogni lato. Gi\u00e0 l'elenco assomiglia molto alle operazioni aeroportuali, che \u00e8 essenzialmente ci\u00f2 che \u00e8 Kourou, ma solo con i lanci e senza gli atterraggi.<\/p><p>In due sale si produce il materiale per i razzi a propulsione solida, \u201cin pratica come un esplosivo al plastico\u201d, e tutto ha inizio in un gigantesco miscelatore, grande come una piccola casa unifamiliare, di cui ne esistono due identici in Guyana e probabilmente solo un altro al mondo (negli Stati Uniti presso la NASA). Tali impastatrici hanno bisogno di manutenzione, cos\u00ec come le enormi gru da 200 tonnellate e gli ascensori idraulici.
